About this collection
A new open “Inclusive Edition” launching on Prohibition Art and Floor on 1/24/24 powered by Art Blocks Engine.
Following in the footsteps of snowfro and Jordan Lyall's “heart + craft”, “Dots” aims to provide high quality on-chain generative art at a price point that is accessible for everyone.
At its core the art behind “Dots” is a distillation of the soul of my two @artblocks_io projects “Moments” and “Pieces of Me” released in 2021. The code based paint strokes creating a singular dot serves as an atomic unit, a fundamental building block of my artistic language.
What makes "Dots" so exciting is its potential for collaborative creation. While each dot stands alone as a complete piece, these dots can be used to mint other experiences that will take on the character of the dots passed in at mint time.
The first experience that will launch along side “Dots” is the “Dot Composite” builder. This is a tool that will be released on https://r4v3n.art/ on 1/24 that will allow collectors to use their dots to mint a limited edition series composed of their dots.
Collectors can curate 12 or more dots which they can pass into the composite minter, allowing them to participate with me in the creation of the final pieces.
Collectors will also have the ability to burn their composites and claim back the “Dots” they used to mint them, allowing for them to use the dots in new composites or new future experiences.
This is establishes a new chapter in my generative art practice, one where the medium of the blockchain and L2s are fully embraced to make this all possible.

r4v3n (C.J. Bordeleau, b. 1988, American)
Working from the Boston suburb of Sudbury, C.J. Bordeleau, better known in the digital art world as r4v3n (pronounced “raven”), is a generative artist whose work is a compelling exploration of the interplay between technology and human emotion. His art, as seen in collections like “Moments”, “Pieces of Me”, “Color Streams” and “Marfa: Middle of Somewhere", invites the viewer into an immersive journey into the bridging of the analog and digital worlds.
Influenced by abstract expressionism and color field painting, Bordeleau (r4v3n) skillfully blends the precision of algorithms with the expressive nature of human feelings. His art aims to go beyond the visual, aiming to provoke thought and evoke emotion, offering a sense of hope that technology will elevate our humanity, not replace it.
Each creation by Bordeleau is a delicate exploration of life’s moments, translated into a digital language that captures both the visible and the hidden meanings. He focuses on the interplay between the simple and the intricate, striving to create art that resonates with a diverse audience. Approaching his art with humility and a continual desire to learn, Bordeleau views his journey in the field of digital art as one of constant evolution. His goal is to produce works that captivate visually while fostering a deeper connection with the audience, utilizing his digital canvas to reflect the vibrancy and depth of human creativity.
